Job Title: Financial Reporting Officer (Banking)

Status: Permanent

Salary: £55,000 - £63,000 per annum

Location:  City

Work hours:  Mon to Fri, 9:00 - 17:00

Hybrid: 3 days in the office and 2 days – at home

An international bank in the City is looking for a Financial Reporting Officer.

Financial Reporting Officer (Banking) - RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assisting the preparation of management accounts, tax returns and reports, and the implementation of new banking systems.
  • Preparing annual financial statements as per UK GAAP after making necessary GAAP adjustments for the UK Corporation tax.
  • Producing monthly management accounts of London branch and prepare analytic review timely and accurately.
  • Participating on the projects for replacing core banking systems by learning/testing new systems and taking part in the implementation of new systems.
  • Preparing and submit Head Office reports timely and accurately.
  • Performing month end and quarter end closing process (such as reconciliation, bond price upload in systems etc.)
  • Performing periodic reconciliation and control checks and take necessary actions in order to resolve the accounting issues by coordinating with other departments.
  • Assisting tax manager on the preparation of VAT returns.
  • Assisting on the preparation of Capital attribution tax adjustment (CATA) schedule for the corporation tax.
  • Participating in the new product launching process by identifying any accounting and tax related issues and taking part in the UAT process.
  • Updating the department’s policies and procedures in order to reflect the changes driven by launching of new products, system changes or change in internal and external rules and regulations.
  • Carrying out such other duties as requested by Head of Department and General Manager.

 

Financial Reporting Officer (Banking) - QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • University graduate and a qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) (required).
  • PC skills: Advance level on Ms Excel/Word and Ms Access (desirable)
  • Previous experience in the accounting department in the banking or financial services industry.
