Report to: Head of Finance

ALM Analyst - Summary:

This role will be supporting the Head of Finance to provide technical and analytical recommendations to the executive management team, to deliver efficient funding of the business, maintaining an effective control environment to mitigate and minimise financial and operational risk.

  • Assist to ensure branch Asset and Liability and specifically liquidity risk are managed accordingly.
  • Assist to ensure accurate and timely submission of Liquidity information to the Branch ALCO, Head Office and the PRA.

ALM Analyst - What You'll be Doing Each Day:

This role will work closely with the Head of Finance to support London Branch with asset and liability management. Responsibilities includes but not restricted to:

Branch Performance Review:

  • Perform asset and liability portfolio analytical review
  • Assist in preparation of ALCO management reports
  • Enhance and develop business analysis and regular performance appraisal
  • Enhance budget/KPI management and regular monitor of budget/KPI progress
  • Industrial analysis and peers analysis, business guidance.

Liquidity Risk Management:

  • Daily monitoring of the business change, monitoring and reporting of the liquidity forecast
  • Provide suggestions on actions to increase/decrease liquidity headroom
  • Back-testing of liquidity forecast
  • Support efficient liquidity controls within treasury
  • Preparation of liquidity stress test and contingency funding plan
  • Prepare liquidity related reports to head office
  • Implement and build up liquidity system
  • Review and maintenance of branch Liquidity Policy

FTP Management and Development:

  • Monitor FTP quotation
  • Provide advice on FTP curves for products adjustment
  • Support FTP efficiency with front desk
  • Review and maintenance of branch FTP policy

Regulatory Reports:

  • Assist to prepare quarterly/semi-annual/annual CBRC reports to Head Office

Others:

  • Assist Branch Foreign Exchange Risk Management
  • Assist Branch banking book interest rate risk management
  • Support collating of business statistics figures for internal management reports and regulatory reporting purpose
  • Actively participate in system development to enhance the function and ability of data analysis
  • In addition to these duties, the Employee may from time to time be required to undertake additional or other duties within his/her capacity as necessary to meet the needs of the bank's business
  • Ad hoc requirements

ALM Analyst - The skills you need to succeed:

  • Degree holder.
  • Being able to articulate fluently in English. Mandarin would be a plus, but not essential
  • Relevant working experience in the UK
  • Able to demonstrate good knowledge and hands-on experience in ALM in UK based bank, preferably a branch / subsidiary with experience reporting into head office based overseas.
  • Approachable personality, someone who is proactive in taking initiatives, responsibility and is a strong team player.
