Duration: Permanent, full-time

Job status: Hybrid working possible after the probation period (3 days a week at office)

Working hours: 35h per week, Monday - Friday,  9am - 5pm (1h lunch break)

 

Assistant Manager - Accounting - Who You'll Be Working for:  

 

A well-known Japanese global trading company with their office in Central London is seeking an all-round flexible team player to join their accounting team.

 

Assistant Manager - Accounting - What you'll Be doing each day:

  • Assistant Manager of Accounting Department taking some delegated responsibilities from general manager or line manager
  • Posting and Approving journal entries properly for delegated areas and/or amounts
  • Ensuring day by day accounting work, monthly/quarterly/yearly closing & reporting, and statutory requirements including corresponding financial audit, VAT declaration, and reporting such as national statics
  • Ensuring J-SOX requirement and internal control management such as daily accounting booking procedure, inventory confirmation/check, balance confirmation
  • Assisting the other managers, tax, consolidation, in same department for statutory purpose, group reporting, group management purposes
  • Assisting with the implementation of internal policies and rules related to accounting and tax
  • Assisting some management account area like preparation of budget & forecast or analysis between result and budget/forecast
  • Managing the day-to-day running of the accounting functions
  • Cooperating with colleagues from group companies or the other overseas offices of the company in Europe & CIS bloc for accounting related work: control or tax

 

The Skills You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Strong interest in quantitative analysis and business operations. 
  • Solid knowledge and experience in accounting work
  • Knowledge of accounting (UK GAAP and IFRS)
  • Experience of Statutory Account preparation such as: VAT return, statutory reports
  • SAP (S/4 HANA) experience - advantageous
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office
  • Experience and applied knowledge working with a wide range of accounting functions
  • Proven ability in Leadership & Financial Accounting
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
  • Solving problems
  • Proactive and can-do approach
  • understanding of Japanese business working environment - advantageous
