Report to: Executive President Finance
Our client, a global property and luxury leisure investment company, is currently looking for a Group Finance Director. You will be responsible for the Financial Management and Leadership for the company, providing advice and guidance to the Executive Committee on the Financial Management and Finance and Accounting strategy, to optimise the company's financial performance and strategic position.
" To deliver strategic projections - profit & loss, cash, balance sheet etc as required meeting the potential development & Investment opportunities.
" To identify opportunities for business improvements, utilising financial models where appropriate.
" Model long range strategic plans for discussion with Executive Committe regarding future strategic direction.
" Advise on all potential future investments, evaluating risk, current and potential value, to the Executive Committee.
Financial Business Process & best Practice
" Develop with the Executive Committee the Financial Company standards
" Develop an effective and robust financial management system,ensuring best practice control, forecasting and accounting systems and business processes are maintained in line with compnay's standards.
Policies & Procedures
" To ensure adequate controls and procedures are in place to minimise risk of financial irregularities and to protect the company's assets.
" To maintain and develop policies and procedures to ensure tight financial management and all subsidiaries.
" To implement and manage the purchasing procedures and maintain the approval matrix for the company.
" Own and manage the data protection policies for the trading companies.
Monthly Management Reporting
" Consolidation of company's Monthly Accounts.
" To ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial information on a monthly basis to the Executive Committee & Beijing Head Office.
" Monitoring, advising and reporting on all Subsidiary business performance.
" To prepare the quarterly Board Reports incorporating consolidated profit & loss account, balance sheet, cashflow, capex and commentary.
" Delivery of executive summary information to enable swift decision-making
" Daily revenue flash reports
" Weekly cash journals
" Funding requirements
" Weekly (or as necessary) capex summary report
" Monthly analysis pack
Budgeting and Forecasting
" To outline Budgeting and Forecasting time scales and expectations to Coprorate office and all subsidiaries.
" To provide business unit and consolidated budgets, which accurately reflect the potential of the business and to help ensure that these are achieved.
" To consolidate company's Budget and prepare the annual budget presentation for approval by the Executive Committee.
" To deliver quarterly (or as required) re-forecast pack.
" To foster and develop strong culture of financial responsibility throughout the business.
Treasury & Bank Management
" To Direct and manage treasury matters, ensuring maximisation of returns on cash deposits.
" To manage the relationship and covernance with the company's bankers.
" To monitor business cash flow, both short and longer term, ensuring the business can adequately meet its liabilities as they fall due for the company.
Corporation and Deferred Taxation
" To prepare forecasts for purpose of quarterly instalment payments.
" To manage relationship with tax advisors and HMRC to ensure compliance, resolution of open issues and maximisation of tax planning opportunities.
" To prepare draft deferred tax computations for completion by tax advisors.
" Finalise and approve tax returns and trading subsidiaries.
VAT & Employment Taxes
" To manage relationship with advisors and statutory bodies, ensuring issues relevant to the RIUK are highlighted and appropriately dealt with.
" Ensure VAT PoA, Quarterly returns, Payroll year end, P11d, PSA are completed and amounts settled on time.
" To prepare and consolidate the statutory accounts for the company and the trading subsidiaries.
" To manage the relationship with the internal and external auditors and ensure issues raised are appropriately dealt with.
" To co-ordinate & consolidate capital budget plans for all subsidiaries of the company. For the Executive Committee.
" To ensure the capital expenditure programme is strictly controlled and is within budget.
" To ensure cash outlay on fixed assets is appropriately monitored and procedures followed.
Overseas Consultancy & Branding Agreements
" To review financial projections to determine viability.
" To review proposed contracts and recommend the most tax efficient (corporation tax, vat, employment taxes) structures.
" To ensure appropriate mechanisms are in place to monitor financial performance, deliver compliance with local tax legislation, extract timely fee income and manage foreign currency exposure.
" To monitor overseas branding and rental income & costs.
" To provide ad hoc support to oversees partner businesses as appropriate.
" Good command of English and Mandarin and written English and Chinese is must.
" Degree holder in Accountancy or Finance, with recognized professional accounting qualification.
" Minimum 8 years working experience in progressively responsible financial leadership roles, including experience of providing Financial Experience in controlling across a group of companies, preferably gained from HOSPITALITY/HOTEL industry, PRC company experience will be priority considered
" Strong analytical and communications skill, and with good business sense
" High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
" Fully qualified accountant (CA, ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
" Excellent knowledge of SAP systems will be priority considered
