The Company:
Food packaging market leader.
The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills and a deep knowledge of packaging materials.
What you'll be doing each day:
- Project Management of customer briefs of new products (Packaging)
- Testing and evaluation of supplier proposals
- Development of innovative packaging through 3D CAD software and testing development through prototyping as well as sign off new items.
- Development of new packaging technology both in raw materials and final packaging designs
- Translation of customer briefs into development briefs for packaging suppliers
- Presentation of packaging concepts to internal and external customers
- Presentation PD news from the industry (suppliers, QSR< FMCG) to internal customers
- Coordination of instore testing where required
- Completion of packaging specifications
- Packaging innovation benchmarking across QSR Sector
- Support customer needs for innovative packaging development.
- Support of Sales Team in development of customer presentations
- Act as subject matter expert and contact person for existing and new customers
- Establishment and maintenance of global team contacts
- Sharing of best practices by category
- Mutual support and training
The skills you need to succeed:
- Qualified to degree level in a relevant scientific discipline
- Demonstrated packaging development experience involving design and innovation through to commercialisation
- Excellent project management skills with demonstrated experience
- Experience in large FMCG or food service industry preferred
- Highly developed numerical, analytical and communication skills - both verbal and written
- Good planning and organising skills with the ability to prioritise and work independently with minimal supervision
- Creative approach in packaging development
- Culturally sensitive with the ability to work effectively with suppliers and customers in countries across Europe.
- Commercially minded with good analytical skills
- A self-motivated individual combined with result driven approach
- Very good organizational and time management skills
- Proficient with MS Office suite of products with strong Excel and PowerPoint capabilities
- Willingness to travel    
Additional useful experience:
- Additional supply chain or packaging qualifications such as MCIPS or Certified Packaging Professional CPP (IoPP)
- Certification in project management such as AgilePM/ Prince2
- Additional language skills e.g. French, Italian, German
- Experience in 3D printing and CAD plotting table
- Packaging photography expertise
- Concept sketching ability in 3D perspective
